Sideroom TV

Ok, so for those that don’t know, Sideroom TV has been live on air for 50 episodes since August last year.

50.

The show has evolved from a Saturday/Sunday morning hobby to a fully fledged prime time weeknight hoo ha. With a show that requires more props, sets and raw meat than any other show on the network, we are taking a hiatus. If our niche program invigorated some sort of thought process amongst our audience, we are thankful, but basically we are wrapping up at a time that feels right.
It is the nature of the beast that our best performances we’re the ones when tape recording equipment failed and have been lost to the eternal creative void. However, some charming moments may be reflected upon here and alas, we’re not done yet…

Sideroom is about to re-invent NZ TV so keep your ear to the ground….

The Cast

Mark
Mark from Sideroom dreamed of a place where everyone could bring their idiosyncratic personalities to the table to culminate in a cacophany of human splendor. Then he had this other dream about Naomi Campbell with the head of a praying mantis chewing on his leg while he sang “I Will Survive” by Gloria Gaynor.

El Graffitto
El Graffitto hails from a long line of Lucha Libre Wrestlers fighting out of Iztapalapa, Mexico. He applied to Sideroom believing it was some sort of cheap accomodation until he received NZ residency. We did one better and gave him a job as Ling Ling’s Phone call quality controller, Mark’s general assistant and let him live in our bathroom for free.

Flash McAndrew
Flash McAndrew extends our international cast as Sideroom’s in house weather reporter. Coming from Plymouth in the UK, Flash knows cold, damp and grey. He came to NZ to evade a misunderstanding with the MI5 and Sideroom TV was a prescribed weekly therapy session by his counciller.

Ling Ling
Ling Ling, our exotic beauty from the orient hosts Sideroom TV’s talkback segment - “Ring Ring Ling Ling”. She’s the jewell in the Sideroom crown and the fortune in Sideroom’s cookie.
