Link Choi | Red Bull Stereopticon Entry

Link Choi | Red Bull Stereopticon Entry

Link Choi loves coloring. He works mainly in the digital realm, but has pencils and is not afraid to use them.

Link’s pictures are snapshots of a reality where life + magic = truth. In March 2010 he had his first live digital painting gig. The experience was an awesome one and he would like to do it again for Stereopticon.

That image of the women with the little man in her hand is a trip, though, I don’t get it. Its some commentary on the Palestine/ Israel conflict? Link Choi can you help me?

    • Link Choi says:

      Hi Rajah

I did a series of paintings that show bible scenes in contemporary setting. Not commentary, just straight up dressing the characters in what they would wear today.

That picture is titled The Annuciation and depicts the scene in Luke where the angel tells Mary she’s going to be pregnant with the Son of God who will deliver her people from Roman rule.

I love that scene because Mary thought about the cost of being a yound unwed mother in her society, and then said yes anyway. That’s why Mary is the ultimate rock’n'rolla.

  42. donald bradford says:

The style is awesome, the ripple waves from point of impact really adds to it.
the white bull eye is also cool.

  43. James Wards says:

The colors you have chosen work very well together, it’s almost like a Spanish Matadore Graffiti Scheme. The shadows produced from the explosive energy and the radial expression from the center of the piece really emphasizes the forces involved. Excellent work.

  44. Gareth Keenan says:

Looks awesome, you can really tell the force that’s present within the piece , and the colors really help emphasize the intensity of the picture

  45. Cool that you can get a pastel style effect and still have a very apparrent shockwave. Love the bull’s eyes – I would not mess with that bull. Though finger-horns do appear to be more effective than previously believed.

  46. Mike Porter says:

I really like the fact that this guy is taking on the bull in terms the bull can understand. Mano e Toro!! I have money riding on the bull!

    • Link Choi says:
